Course List

Effective Summer Quarter 2008, Federal Pell Grant checks will be disbursed after the fourth week of the quarter. Please remember that Pell-only students who withdraw from all classes may have a balance due; therefore, these accounts will be placed on hold until paid in full.

Exemption Exams

A student may not receive exemption for courses in which they have been previously enrolled, nor may they take an exemption examination for a course more than once. If already enrolled in the course, the student should notify the instructor on or before July 9. There is, however, no requirement that the student be enrolled in the course.

Students who wish to take an exemption exam for a course should follow this procedure:

  1. Pay the exemption exam fee at the Cashier's Window.
  2. The cashier will give the student an Exemption Exam Form. The student will complete the section requiring their name, SSN, program and signature.
  3. The cashier will stamp the form "PAID" and indicate the total exams for which the student paid.
  4. The student will take the Exemption Exam Form to the School Dean responsible for arranging the administration of the exam.

Auditing a Course

Students who wish to audit a course should be registered for the course as normal, and then the student must request the audit status in the Registrar's Office. This request should take place by July 9, 2008.

Financial Aid

Georgia residents enrolling in programs which are eligible for the HOPE Grant or HOPE Scholarship will receive funds that pay tuition, registration fee, activity fee, and a book allowance of $50 or $100. Apply for the HOPE Grant and HOPE Scholarship at www.GAcollege411.org.

To determine eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant, applicants enrolled in a degree, diploma, or Pell-approved certificate must complete a 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Applicants should access www.fafsa.ed.gov to submit Pell Grant applications to the Department of Education using 2007 tax information. Students should read the Student Aid Report (sent to students by Department of Education or printed at www.fafsa.ed.gov) to determine if they have been selected for a process called Verification. Students selected for Verification must submit 2007 Federal tax information to the Financial Aid Office to ensure a Pell disbursement during Summer Quarter 2008.

Financial aid recipients must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) as follows:

  • 2.00 GPA for HOPE Grant and PELL Grant; 3.00 GPA for HOPE Scholarship
  • Complete 67 percent of classes scheduled

Guaranteed Processing Dates:

  • Federal Pell Grant for Spring Quarter 2008: June 1, 2008
  • HOPE Scholarship/HOPE Grant for Spring Quarter 2008: June 13, 2008

Effective Summer Quarter 2008, Federal Pell Grant checks will be disbursed after the fourth week of the quarter. Please remember that Pell-only students who withdraw from all classes may have a balance due; therefore, these accounts will be placed on hold until paid in full.

Graduation

All students who will be eligible to graduate from their current major at the end of Summer Quarter should follow these instructions:

  1. All prospective Summer Quarter graduates should call the Registrar's Office at (706) 649-1857 to make an appointment for their graduation eligibility screening. The prospective graduates must complete this graduation screening by July 9 , 2008. This deadline is critical for our students to be able to make any schedule changes to meet eligibility requirements for graduation.
  2. Any students, who have no deficiencies, will submit their diploma information to the staff in the Registrar's Office at that time.

Any student not meeting the graduation eligibility screening deadline will be assessed a $10 late fee.
