Program Description:

This program contains classroom instruction and laboratory experience in all phases of salon work. Graduates are prepared to take the licensure examination of the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology, for careers as hair stylists, color technicians, platform artists, make-up artists, salon managers, or salon owners.

As Americans have more disposable income than ever and the desire for enhancing and retaining personal appearances is in high demand, the demand for professionally trained cosmetologists, estheticians, and nail technicians is constantly growing.

In this diploma program, you will have constant exposure to clients in order to practice for employment in one of these lucrative arenas of the cosmetology industry. You will work in hair styling, cutting, coloring, perming, chemical relaxing, skin care, and nail care with emphasis on safety, sanitation, and professionalism. The program prepares you to take the National-Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology, Inc. (NIC) exam. Upon successful passing of the exam, you may find employment in salons, spas, or skin- or nail-care salons. You may also choose other specialty options for employment such as color specialist, manufacturer’s representative, platform artist, or salon or spa manager or owner.

After graduating from this program, you must present a high school diploma or official GED certificate to the National-Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology, Inc. (NIC) when applying to take the NIC exam.
