CTC SkillsUSA Team Brings Home National Medals

Competitors from Columbus Technical College's 2009 SkillsUSA team brought home six medals from the national arena, including one gold! There were nine students competing at the national level. Dental Assisting student Ashley Mills won the national gold medal. Besides bragging rights and the medal itself, Ashley also received a gift basket with several prizes, including an ipod.

Columbus Technical College Dental Assisting student Ashley Mills took home the gold medal in the national SkillsUSA competition.

The CTC Health Bowl team (Rebecca Bishop, Anthony Fitzpatrick, Claudia Haines and Regina Ridgley) took home the silver medal. They competed against nine other teams. Besides winning the bronze medal after competing against 25 other people, Auto Refinishing Technology student Blake Allen also took home an estimated $1,000 worth of prizes and equipment.

Three other Columbus Technical College students competed at the national level. They are: Donny Kimbrell/Major Appliance Technology, Amy Anspach/Technical Drafting and Antwone Henderson/Job Skills.

American Dental Association, The Forsyth Institute Collaborate to Pilot Evidence-Based Dentistry Training Course

The American Dental Association Center for Evidence-Based Dentistry and The Forsyth Institute announce the offering of an intensive, five-day training course in evidence-based principles and tools, including systematic reviews and applications for clinical decision making. The collaborative "ADA/Forsyth EBD Course" scheduled from Oct. 19 to 23 at Forsyth headquarters in Boston, will link the evidence-based dentistry initiatives of the ADA with the breadth and depth of Forsyth's scientific research.
