Nursing Students Provide Health Screenings for Local Boy Scouts

Columbus Technical College nursing students got some real life medical experience recently while helping area Boy Scouts stay healthy. Members of the Student Nurses' Association, along with four physicians and one medical student from The Medical Center volunteered their time Tuesday night (April 15, 2008) to perform physicals on about 40 Boy Scouts. The students and volunteers tested the Scouts' vision and hearing. They measured their height and weight, asked about their medical history and performed vital signs. The remaining tests were done by the doctors who volunteered.

To show their appreciation, the members of Boy Scout Troop 169 provided barbeque for all the volunteers.
