Kellogg's Snacks Wins Manufacturer of the YearApril 4, 2008 - For the second consecutive year, Kellogg's Snacks of Columbus has won Columbus Technical College's Regional Manufacturer of the Year award. Kellogg's Snacks won in the “Medium” category (151 – 750 employees). Kellogg's will compete against other regional winners during Manufacturing Appreciation Week in Atlanta, April 14 – 18, 2008. The state wide winners in each category (Small [1-150 employees], Medium and Large [751+]) will be announced at a luncheon in Atlanta on April 17th. At the awards presentation, Columbus Technical College President Bob Jones said, “Kellogg's Snacks has done a great deal of training through Georgia Quick Start and they realize the importance of returning on investments. We’re so proud to consider them a partner in Economic Development. Kellogg's Snacks' Plant Manager Patrick Taylor said, “We're very proud of what we do -- not only at our bakery but in the community as well. Our employees are constantly giving their time to important organizations like United Way.
Manufacturing Appreciation Week (MAW) is a time for promoting awareness of manufacturing and its importance to the state of Georgia. The Technical College System of Georgia and the Georgia Department Economic Development started Manufacturing Appreciation Week. Manufacturing is vital to Georgia's economy.
