Partnership Benefits Children with AutismColumbus Technical College is partnering with a local autism support group (Muscogee County Autism Support Group [MCASG]), the Muscogee County School District, and the future Autism Hope Center in an initiative to train caregivers who work with autistic children. In a nutshell, the program will bring autistic and non-autistic children together at the child care center at Columbus Technical College. The children will play and interact with one another to provide opportunities for the autistic children to learn from and imitate the behavior of their non-autistic classmates. MCASG is also having a walk/run on October 6, 2007 to raise funds for the future Autism Hope Center. Columbus Technical College will have teams participating in that event.
