College Welcomes Respiratory Care ProfessionalsColumbus Technical College played host to the first annual Greater Chattahoochee Respiratory Conference on Friday, August 17, 2007. More than 80 participants registered for this important conference. The participants heard from experts in the field of respiratory care from all over the South (Alabama, Florida, Georgia and North Carolina). Speakers addressed issues from sleep apnea to organ donation, asthma and even different modes of ventilation.
Respiratory Therapists are required to have continuing education units (CEU’s) in order to keep their licenses up-to-date. Georgia Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP’s) are required to earn 30 CEU’s every two years. This conference was approved for six hours of CEU credit. It was also an opportunity for participants to learn and network with the area respiratory community.
