Residential Care Attendant Certificate

This Technical Certificate of Credit Program is designed to produce graduates with the knowledge and skills as well as work ethics to care for individuals with special needs who reside in assisted living/residential care facilities, or who still live at home. Emphasis is placed on communication skills, cultural diversity, aging, disabilities, body mechanics, infection control, transporting techniques, nutrition, safety, elimination needs, and vital signs. Student will also explore the interpersonal relationships between caregivers and the elderly and various diseases related to aging. The graduate works under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse or practical nurse.

Program Admission Requirements:

  1. Present official documentation of an earned high school diploma or official GED scores.
  2. Be at least 16 years old.
  3. Meet minimum test scores.

Entrance is contingent upon completion of a Background check from H.I.R.E. which must be completed after being conditionally accepted to the program.
