Can’t attend classes during the day? Become a Certified Nurse Aid and earn a Patient Care Assisting Certificate during the evening and on-line! Students will qualify to take the state exam to become a Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) by completing CNA 100. All of the classes for Patient Care Assisting are now available either in the evening or (in the case of nutrition) on-line.

This program is designed to prepare students for the general concepts of basic patient care. Emphasis is placed on medical terminology, transporting techniques, elimination needs, and vital signs. The graduate works under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Graduates will be administered competency testing for Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in the State of Georgia. To receive nurse aide certification the student must pass a written and skills performance examination approved by Georgia Medical Care Foundation.

Program Admission Requirements:

  1. Present official documentation of an earned high school diploma or official GED scores.
  2. Be at least 17 years old.
  3. Successfully complete Background check before clinical rotation.
  4. Submit current physical exam, immunization record and PPD results before entering clinical rotation.

Entrance is contingent upon completion of a Background Check and Drug Screen from H.I.R.E. which must be completed after being conditionally accepted to the program.
