Health Studies Degree

The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Health Studies is designed for graduates of the Practical Nursing, Medical Assisting or Dental Assisting Program within the Technical College System of Georgia. The program requires 90 credit hours; 30 credit hours in general education courses and 60 credit hours in occupational courses as specified in the sequence sheet. Applicants to the program must have graduated or be eligible to graduate from one of the programs named above. This degree option gives students an opportunity to pursue further education by developing written and oral communication skills and computational skills which, when combined with science and professional courses, will broaden areas of career interest.

Program Admission Requirements:

  1. Applicant must be graduate of Practical Nursing Program, Dental Assisting Program or Medical Assisting Program

The School of Health Sciences has agreed to accept graduates of The Medical Center School of Radiology for this program. In addition to the above requirements, these students must do the following:

  1. Provide a copy of current licensure/registration as a radiologic technologist
  2. Provide a letter from a current or recent employer (within the past 5 years) showing at least 2 years of work-related experience as a radiologic technologist
  3. Provide transcripts from TMC School of Radiology showing satisfactory completion of all courses.
