Allied health Assistant Certificate

Allied Health Assistant Certificate

The Allied Health Assistant program is designed to prepare entry-level applicants and current employees with attitude and behavioral skills, workplace communication, problem solving strategies, and specific technical skills to enter the health science career path. The term "allied health" is used to classify more than 100 professions. These practitioners provide various services including Unit Clerks, Admissions Processor, Receptionist, Patient Service Representative, Medical Records Clerk, Scheduling Personnel, and Office Tech, just to name a few. A Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) will be awarded upon successful completion of forty-five (45) or fifty (50) credit hours depending on selection of courses. This will provide you with knowledge of medical terminology, legal and ethical issues, anatomy and physiology, blood and airborne pathogens, first aid, CPR, and many basic skills needed in a healthcare environment. The Allied Health Assistant program can also be used as a core program for progression into more advanced health science diploma and degree programs.
