Financial Aid ProgramsPlease contact the Financial Aid Office with any questions about assistance programs available to students. Interested applicants should review the general Financial Aid information for an overview of the services provided by the college Financial Aid office. Pell GrantThe purpose of this program is to provide funds to qualified students to assist them in obtaining the benefits of a post secondary education. To apply, the student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Applications may be made online or forms can be obtained from Columbus Technical College, high school counselors, or other post-secondary educational institutions. This aid money is for educational costs and does not have to be repaid, unless you are over-awarded. To receive a PELL Grant the student must:
HOPE GrantGeorgia residents are eligible to receive a HOPE Grant to cover tuition, HOPE approved mandatory fees, and a book allowance to seek a diploma or certificate at a public post secondary institution in Georgia if they meet the eligibility requirements. For Certificate and Diploma Programs only. Residency Requirement: You must be a *legal resident of Georgia at least one year prior to enrollment. *Military Waiver

HOPE ScholarshipHOPE Scholarship (Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally) Scholarships are sponsored by the Governor, paid out of lottery funds, and available to Georgia residents – including active military and dependents. Students pursuing an associate degree may be eligible for a HOPE scholarship if they graduated from an eligible Georgia high school as a final HOPE scholar, of if they have completed a minimum 45 degree-level quarter hours with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Native American Scholarship FundThe mission of the Native American Scholarship Fund (NASF) is to help improve the quality of life through the higher education of Indian people. However, students must apply to all other sources of funding for which they are eligible. Veterans BenefitsEligible veterans can make application through their local or regional Veterans Administration office. Columbus Technical College has applications and a counselor available to assist applicants filing for benefits. Contact the office at 706-649-1458. Vocational RehabilitationFor individuals with disabilities, contact the Coordinator of Student Disability Services at 706.649.1533 Workforce Investment ActProvides economically disadvantaged persons, or those facing serious barriers to employment, with training. Contact the office at 706.649.1856 . Social SecurityQualified students may receive benefits while attending Columbus Technical College. Contact the local Social Security Office. Work StudyOffers part-time employment to eligible students receiving VA education benefits attending school three quarter time or more on the Columbus Technical College campus. US ARMY Tuition AssistanceAvailable for active military. Apply at the Education Center, Bldg. #2602, Soldier's Plaza, Columbus Technical College Office at Ft. Benning 706.545.4863 . When approved, take the forms to the College cashier's window. The military pays 75% of the tuition and the service member pays 25% of the tuition fee remaining at registration (see the HOPE web page above - it will pay tuition for active military and dependents). Career Advancement AccountThe Career Advancement Account is a program for active-duty military spouses that provides up to $3000 to cover the cost of tuition and other expenses associated with earning a certificate, diploma or two-year degree at Columbus Technical College. More information... Bill (the) CompanyThis program allows Columbus Technical College to bill the student's company for tuition, fees, and in some cases, books. Each participant must clear the procedure with their own company in writing and present it to the school's Business Office prior to registration. Postsecondary OptionsTuition assistance is available for qualified secondary school junior and senior students 16 years of age or older.
