Service Industry AcademyFinancial Services Professional (FSP) Summer Course: June 30 - July 31, 2008 The Columbus business community designed the Service Industry Academy as a resource for successfully meeting the qualified employee shortage. The Service Industry Academy provides the Columbus and Valley regions with a skilled workforce to meet the business requirements of the community's service industries. The Academy works in partnership with businesses, the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce, The Valley Partnership, the Development Authority, and other government agencies and workforce development initiatives to identify, assess and train workers for the service industry. Service Academy ProgramsCertified Customer Service SpecialistThe Certified Customer Service Specialist Program is a skill assessment and development program developed by Quick Start for statewide use. It provides trainees with the foundational knowledge and skills to achieve world class customer service standards. During 154 hours of interactive classroom and computer-based training, participants acquire skills to effectively interact with customers and their fellow service team members. Training services provided by the Academy are comprehensive and implemented based upon guidance from area businesses. Additional services include job profiling, assessment center design and operation, advanced skill training, and call center simulation.
