Financial Aid

Georgia residents enrolling in programs which are eligible for the HOPE Grant or HOPE Scholarship will receive funds that pay tuition, registration fee, activity fee, and a book allowance of $50 or $100.  Apply for the HOPE Grant and HOPE Scholarship at www.GAcollege411.org.

To determine eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant, applicants enrolled in a degree, diploma, or Pell-approved certificate must complete a 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Applicants should access www.fafsa.ed.gov to submit Pell Grant applications to the Department of Education using 2007 tax information.  Students should read the Student Aid Report (sent to students by Department of Education or printed at www.fafsa.ed.gov) to determine if they have been selected for a process called Verification.  Students selected for Verification must submit 2007 Federal tax information to the Financial Aid Office to ensure a Pell disbursement during Fall Quarter 2008.

Financial aid recipients must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) as follows:

  • 2.00 GPA for HOPE Grant and PELL Grant; 3.00 GPA for HOPE Scholarship
  • Complete 67 percent of classes scheduled

Graduation

All students who will be eligible to graduate from their current major at the end of Fall Quarter should follow these instructions:

All prospective Fall Quarter graduates should call the Registrar's Office at (706) 649-1857 to make an appointment for their graduation eligibility screening. The prospective graduates must complete this graduation screening by October 1, 2008. This deadline is critical for our students to be able to make any schedule changes to meet eligibility requirements for graduation

Any students, who have no deficiencies, will submit their diploma information to the staff in the Registrar's Office at that time.

Any student not meeting the graduation eligibility screening deadline will be assessed a $10 late fee.
