College Facts
- During fiscal year 2008, Columbus Technical College boasted a
job placement rate of approximately 95% with 87% of those placed
in their chosen field.
- About 90% of all Columbus Technical College graduates are
employed within 50 miles of Columbus.
- Columbus Technical College, through its Economic Development Department,
provided training assistance to 407 companies for
the 2008 fiscal year. Almost 12,000 people received training services from the College
in the last year.
- In 2008, Columbus Technical college received two workforce development grants aimed at the aerospace and defense industries. The grants
will help provide well training and education for individuals seeking
employment in those expanding industries.
- Seventy-one percent (71%) of the student body of Columbus Technical
College are Columbus residents. Nearly all of the remaining students
reside in a county adjacent to Muscogee County.
- Fiscal year 2008 saw Columbus Technical College award 952 unduplicated associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in
over 100 areas of study.
- The main campus consists of 13.6 acres on the south side of Manchester
Expressway and 20 acres on the north side.
- A public/private partnership agreement with Columbus Technical
College Foundation, Inc. and the State of Georgia will bring the
new Dr. Robert L. Wright Jr. Health Sciences
Center to the 26-acre
North Campus on River Road.
- The pending health sciences center will measure approximately
84,000 square feet and will allow a greater
than 50% increase in
the number of health sciences students the College can accept, educate,
and train for the workforce.
- Columbus Technical College has more than
1,200 students waiting
to get into a specific healthcare program.
- Close to 80% of Columbus Technical College students
are recipients of the HOPE Scholarship and/or the HOPE Grant.
